Interview with Esther van der Poel

Esther van der Poel works as an artist manager for Agent Audio, the booking agency of ID&T (Sensation, Mysteryland). She was closely involved in the founding of Agent Audio. Together with her colleagues Olga Zegers and Pepijn Pekelharing, Esther is responsible for the bookings of dance artists like Michel de Hey, Juan Sanchez, Björn Wolf, Dennis Ruyer, DJ Isis and Tocadisco. Agent Audio has used System One from the start of the agency in early 2008.

See the right information in the blink of an eye
As an experienced artist manager, Esther knows what it takes to give structure to daily activities. “The booking business is quite hectic. We’re continuously making phone calls, handling new requests and updating the bookings. I need to process all the information fast and accurately.” To Esther it is very important to see the right information in the blink of an eye. “When I receive a new request, I need to see quickly whether the artist is available or not, without endless searching.”

System One for dummies
For this reason, Agent Audio decided to work with System One. Esther is convinced of the usability and benefits of the program. “I prefer an easy to understand software tool. System One is very user friendly and, even though I’m a total computer dummy, I can work with it perfectly. Also, the contact with the people behind System One is excellent. There is always someone available. That’s what I like.”

Clear overview on the schedules

The artists represented by Agent Audio have busy schedules. System One helps to keep a clear overview on those schedules. In System One, Esther registers the options, bookings, and availability of the artists, when there are any holidays planned, and when there are important private meetings. Esther is able to create a detailed schedule with the software. “The agenda works with different colors to distinguish different types of appointments. This makes the planning very clear. I instantly can see what’s going on.” The artists can view their personal schedules online, from home, or when they are on the road.
